Marc Lamont Hill fired from CNN for supporting Palestinian rights

This seems to the the phrase he was fired for. 

The consequences for Hill are part of a disquieting, and thriving, effort to shut down criticism of Israel wherever it lives—an effort CNN has now emboldened.

CODEPINK was on point on Fox News calling for reinstating him.

The tactic is well known though. There have been countless efforts to discredit or defame supporters of equality for Palestinians, as teh quote form the ACLU describes perfectly:

The trend manifests on college campuses, in state contracts, and even in bills to change federal criminal law, but the impact is the same: Those who seek to protest, boycott, or otherwise criticize the Israeli government are being silenced.

This is an old one from 2003 or so, but I remember this clearly. I was trying to educate myself on the conflict at the time. Daniel Pipes made dossiers on any professor that mentioned Palestinians don't have equality or that they deserve it and attempted to have these people fired.
